ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

Machane Moshava
Camp Moshava Alevy is dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation and love for Israel among all members of its camp community, with the ultimate goal of encouraging Aliyah. Central to this mission is the ideology of Torah Va’Avodah and Religious Zionism, as championed by Bnei Akiva. This philosophy, emphasizing the integration of Torah values with active contribution to society, informs every aspect of camp life.
Through the lens of Torah Va’Avodah, the camp highlights the importance of interpersonal relationships, social justice, and community-building within the framework of Torah and Halacha. Camp Moshava Alevy seeks to nurture the social, emotional, intellectual, and religious development of its members in an engaging and enjoyable camping environment.
Mission Statement
Bnei Akiva of Los Angeles is a West Coast Orthodox Zionist movement that engages youth, family, and community in year-round programs to develop a strong relationship to Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and the values of Torah V'Avoda.
Our Name
We started out in 2013 through a partnership with the Shalom Institute, a non-denominational campsite in the heart of Malibu, and thus our nascent Modern Orthodox/Zionist camp was launched as Moshava Malibu. After our 2014 season, we acquired our own site in the San Bernardino Mountains and moved to Running Springs CA, changing our name to Moshava California. On April 9th, 2018, in gratitude to the generosity of Mr. Allen and Mrs. Deanna Alevy, we officially changed our name to Moshava Alevy in memory of their parents Norton and Sylvia Alevy z"l.
